Hi Seekercast team,
Thank you for yet another great podcast!
I’m afraid I violently agree on all the points you made about this episode. This sure is one of my favorite episodes in Season 2.
My favorite storyline is of course the magic of the sword. The magic and the rage of the Sword of Truth plays such a key role in the books, it’s almost like having a “character” you see evolving throughout the books. During season 1, we see once in while the Sword of Truth glowing, and once in the “Denna” episode, we see it turning white, but the magic of the sword was never explained until this episode.
There are other references to the books in “Fury”: the beginning of Richard’s wizard headaches, and even the peaceful people, the Minders. Although the Minders themselves are not featured in the books, they sort of remind me the people in “Naked Empire”. By the way, I thought the actors playing the Minders were just fabulous!
I also loved to see again Zedd being a more central character, and a mentor to Richard. I feel that Zedd has been too much in the background this season (except for “Wizard”, which is IMHO, the weakest episode in S2), and I know Zedd has a lot more he can contribute.
Last but not least, since “Fury” aired a while ago, I didn’t remember what kind of reviews it received, and BAGS, I was so disappointed to see that “Fury” didn’t get better grades.
IGN review: 7.3 out of 10, http://tv.ign.com/articles/105/1055286p1.html
Dauntless Media: overall grade B, http://dauntlessmedia.net/legend-of-the-seeker/2-06-fury-review.html
The Torch Online: 3 and half torches (out of 5), http://thetorchonline.com/2009/12/13/legend-of-the-seeker-episode-review-2-6-richard-meets-his-inner-evil-xena/
I think it should have earned 10 out 10, A+ and 5 torches!
Looking forward to the new episode, “Bound”, this weekend.
Enjoyed the podcast this week.
I just picked up Wizards First Rule from the bookstore and started it last night.
So far, its great! Can’t wait for the new Seeker episode. I’m having withdrawals. lol.
Hay, guys. I just wanted to say ‘GOOD WORK’. I really enjoy your show and the TV series. I’ m from Bulgaria and here we really appreciate your work.
I’ve read the books and now when I watch the 2nd season I just can’t understand something. How can good and bad people go to the same place after they die? I mean, the Underworld should be a place for bad guys. It just doesn’t make any sense. Why should people try to make good desicions and help the others if at the end they have to suffer? I think the eternal reward is what motivates someone to be nice. Thanks for the time. I can’t wait for the next episode
Best wishes
Hi Vicki -thanks for writing. There’s been some great discussion on this topic over at the Legend of the Seeker.org forums. See this thread for lots of talk and theories on why the Underworld is existing as it is in the series. http://forums.legendoftheseeker.org/showthread.php/1734-The-Underworld?highlight=underworld
Thanks for the PodCasts! It is great to hear fans not just read them at the different forums!!! I am a huge Sci-fi/Fantasy fan but, Seeker is trully Epic!!! I am also a fan of the books!!! I trully appreciate the books and the show as stand alones!!! I am 110% addicted! Thanks again!
Great site, and great work on behalf of the show! On the renewal front, I’ve written an article which, I hope, will help people realize that this isn’t just another sword-and-sorcery series. While I thought, initially, that Seeker was relatively disposable entertainment, it really has evolved into something special this season, especially with these last few episodes. Getting the show renewed for a third season is definitely a quest worth undertaking. And I’m willing to do whatever I can to help:

Hopefully this helps increase exposure for the series and reinforces why it’s worth not only watching, but renewing. Keep up the great work!
