  1. I gave more thoughts to the Creator episode, and besides being an episode about loyalty and self-doubt, I also noticed that it’s reminding us Wizard second rule: “The greatest harm can result from the best intentions.” So for me, it’s definitely NOT a throw away episode.

And to add to the defense to clip shows, I did discover Legend of the Seeker last year during the reruns in the summer, and the episode I saw accidentally (flipping channels) for the first time was “Home”. It aired twice, the same day, on two different local channels… I was hooked! And I did devour all the books as a result. Did I mention I joined Twitter, Live Journal, and legendoftheseeker.org because of the awesome fandom?

Net-net: thumbs up to a clip show per season if we get more fans!

    More thoughts:
    – Like you guys, I also really, really hope to see Verna again, and have the feeling we’ll see her again… with Warren pleeeaaase!
    – LOL about sisters’ name tags!!! Hilarious!
    – I don’t think Maia was the Creator. No doubt about her being the Prelate’s puppet.
    – Ooohhh! I didn’t think about the possibility that Maia disappeared at the end because her husband took her away. Great point.

Thanks for another fun podcast. Enjoy the week off!

Another great podcast, guys! I really enjoy listening to you :D I’ m cool with the episode, actually it was very well done, exept one thing. If that girl was really the Creator then she should be more than human. How can you accuse the seeker of serving the Keeper, say you will destroy him and then: ‘ Oh, sorry, my bad.It seems you’re good, so I’m letting you go.’ ;( That just doesn’t sound like the Creator. And if she’s making the prophesies how can she make mistakes? Anyway, I’ll miss you, guys. Without episodes podcasts are my only joy. ;)

PC trio!! Thank you. Always great to hear you. Disappointed this was a clip show and not enjoyed as much as season one’s Home (loved that one, purpose for the epi was clearer to me, I guess.) Some wonderful moments for our actors though on the other hand, especially between R/K. I try to remember the “justice is blind” symbol. So when our hero said yes to be judged, I just knew this would not bode well for Richard. Persception and Wizard’s second rule…the best intentions can go awry…really causes everyone to pause and examine Richard’s motives/actions. But wait…where were the people that were in the Seeker’s corner??? Everyone looked way to skeptical. Our team was there for him, but the rest of the populace are in question. Their loyalties are in question, I’d say. Jen: yes, the best scene was between R/K and when he examines how everything he’s done looks from another perspective. Thank you Kurt…no one was hearing me when I talked to my TV that they were burning the banelings once Richard figured out what was needed to do. In the end, it was not as satisfactory an epi. But on the other hand dearly love this series!! Looking forward to the next epi and definitely looking forward to hearing we will have a 3rd and maybe a 4th season from this great cast!! I think there is a lot more to tell…especially after we get this couple together! Enjoyed, take care deras

This was my first SeekerCast and I loved your review of the episode.

A few thoughts of my own that you guys didn’t discuss:

Why do the Creator and Keeper seem so powerless? If she really was the Creator, why did she not know Richard’s intentions WERE to serve her? If she really thought Richard was serving the Keeper, she just lets him walk away at the end? HUH?? OK so he pushes her out of harms way–if she really was the Creator she could’ve stopped the monument from falling or knew it was going to topple and move out of the way herself.

Secondly, so the Creator “runs out of energy”? “Oh I can’t kill you know even if I wanted to because I just closed a giant hole in the ground”. This was perhaps the strangest line in the entire episode which also leads me to believe that she was not the Creator. She has all this power but it is finite and has to rest after using it much like Zedd does.

Lastly, the SOTL gave her her power. By herself, she has no power of her own. Its the han of all the Sisters. Maybe she disappeared at the end because that is one of the things all of that han lets her do.

The Keeper is equally as powerless as he makes Rahl do all of his dirty work, and even still Rahl is made powerless by the Creator even though the Creator claims that neither her nor the Keeper are more powerful than the other. I don’t get how the Keeper is banished if they have the same powers. Also, if she can just close the Rifts on a whim, why doesn’t she close ALL of them?? The Seeker wouldn’t need the Stone of Tears and the Keeper would stay in the Underworld if the Creator just went around closing all the rifts. Huge plot hole here.

The whole Creation story was pulled directly out of Biblical myth with a few tweaks. Not to mention the virgin birth story of the Creator was more than obviously the Messianic story. Do the books this overtly draw on Christian themes or do the writers of the show really have a Christian background? I was surprised you guys didn’t mention the religious aspect of it. Maybe Richard really is an agent of the Keeper since he has the “mark of the Beast”.

I really hope we find out later in the season if she really was the Creator or not, perhaps we will at the season finale.
A good episode for a clip show overall though as I liked the drama and confusion Richard went through as he wondered who he actually is working for.
    Great podcast!

Thanks for listening, SeekerJedi! We’re glad you enjoyed the podcast and you brought up some GREAT points in your post. There were most definitely some big potential plot holes in the aspects you mentioned. I think most of them play into the idea that this woman was not the Creator, but rather a deluded tool of the Sisters of the Light. As for the Keeper, my only thought is that by whatever way he is trapped in the underworld perhaps prevents him from using his powers directly, which is why he assigns them to another (Rahl). It’s a weak explanation, but the best I can think of at this point! :)

  9. Yasir says:

I think if we just assume that she wasn’t the creator it plugs up most of the plot holes. That’s why I didn’t like how the writers tried to leave it as a mystery at the end. Even Kahlan seemed convinced earlier that she wasn’t the creator and then she had to throw in that last line, at least the other three kinda gave her a look to say you gotta be kidding :) Overall, nice recap by you guys and as a clip show it wasn’t a bad episode especially if it can bring more people in to the show through Keisha…

    Thanks for another great podcast!
I agree that this ep was more than just another “clip show” as far as clip shows go, this was one of the best I have seen. As far as Verna, I do not think she gave up her Han…she is a very vital Character in the books and I think she will be in the show or at least I hope we see her again! The writers are making the Prelate, Ann a little darker than the books but, basically the same she is following what she believes to be the truth and is willing to do whatever it takes to see it through…I know there isnt much time for the writers to develope her more this season but, who knows what they might be able to do in the last 7 because in the end she was totally on Richards side…I really liked the explanation about the Stone of Tears and the relationship between the Creator and the Keeper…really creative and gave background not in the books that was cool…LOVE CARA…another great performance by Tabrett! For right now I do not think that Mia is the Creator just another trick by the Prelate to try to stop Richard from finding the SOT…but, I also agree the writers left room for a possible twist in the future…I love the dynamic interaction between R/K…I think any normal person would have doubts and the total support of the person whom you love and loves you back gets you through…that went back to the overall theme of the books…the love story of R/K…

Thanks Again! Cant wait for the this weeks Ep and you’re podcast!!!
