I love these book focuses podcasts. It’s been a long time since we’ve heard a new one. When are you going to continue the bookiecasts? I love the other podcasts you do, but I started listening to your bookiecast for Wizard’s First Rule & have a special place for those podcasts. I hope you will get back to these particular podcasts.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! for the podcast! This “spolied” me enough to finally take the time to finish the book. I have picked it up twice now to start it and there just is never enough time! I would like to comment on Kurt’s statement about how at the end of Confessor Richard changed the world. That takes me back to Wizards second rule “The greatest harm can result from the best intentions.” I agree that we do not know at this point what results will be as far as spearating the world. Also, from the point that I have read to about Richard and Kahlan/Cara and Benjamin being watched through mirrors that ties in The Law of Nines, the other world watched through mirrors….????

In Debt of Bones, the Mother Confessor told Abby that Mord-Sith was part of the culture of the Midlands a loooooong time ago which implies that they are not exclusively a Rahl creation. Seems plausible that anyone with powerful magic can train or control a Mord-Sith of their own.

Early on I was frustrated with the lack of focus of the marketing of Legend of the Seeker and the audience that was being targeted. To me this series is “adult” with the potential of reaching those complexities of life with action/adventure and magic…. not sandwiching good stories between the action/adventure and magic.

Anyway, this was a memorial episode. For those who kept wacking Horner’s
acting skills as mediocre got their come-uppance!! Craig brought his “woodsguide” to the emotionally embattled-experienced Seeker. Richard’s experience by fire (agiel) was well acted by a cast that was dedicated to building the layers of complex characters: Denna and the Seeker’s relationship established and hints at the Achille’s heel yet to be in their tapestry; Richard’s compassion and empathy for the Mord Sith and the setup for Cara and his relationship with her as well as the unique complexity of his relationship with Denna; Kahlan’s ethics re her confessor’s role and the lack of ethics in the confessor Kahlan misguidedly champions (Laura) to replace her in order for Richard to fulfill his destiny; and so many undercurrents of character issues to be exploited for the journey/story line later. Bravo to a cast that kept the faith of the fans and brilliantly used the material at hand. After I read the books, the books did add to the dimensions of Richard and Denna’s relationship. A rewatch of the episode added richness to their performances. I felt Marissa and Craig did do fantastic portrayals to let us see the relationship being forged between Denna and Richard — lethal, abusive, underlying passions yet destructive overall to both. In Season II the relationship is immediately ignited again when he sees her…..definitely his Achilles’ Heel. The passion of Kahlan’s and Richard’s relationship tears your heart out especially where Richard must kill her and at the very end when he confronts her with how he learned of her powers. The pain takes your breath away yet you believe in the hope and love of that relationship between Kahlan and Richard — there is nothing more powerful than true love. It’s an episode worthy of many watchings and musings to eek out so many layers woven in. Bravo for the pod cast. I am looking foward to the next. ras

Been waiting for this one for a while, good job with this one guys. Just wanted to share a thought I had while I was listening to this episode. I feel that the writers were setting up the climax of Richard and Kahlan’s relation-ship in this one. When the other confessor (Laura) was killed everyone was unconfessed except for the one guy and I believe it was because he loved the confessor and as such not affected by her power like others (hint hint for Kahlan).
Looking forward to the book vs show sisters of light..I mean Stone of Tears discussion next episode…

Thank you all for coming back. Sorry my summer has been so disjointed and I have lost track of you off and on …hopefully life will get less complicated…then again…

Anyway, thank you for validating my first instincts about this series. The first season was filled with passion and compassion through our lead actors with wonderful constructs of their characters. The episodes were well done. The audience was more than entertained in the Identity epi as it continued to build and introduce characters. The tapestery of this episode is rich and vibrant. So many details: Shota and Richard’s exchange, the anguish felt for Kahlan and the cruelty of her gifts, the plot thickening with the boxes of Ordin, the definition of love from Zedd, …”nothing more powerful than love” … This was a very good episode…all of the episodes in the first season and the DVD extras are so great…I never fail but to enjoy the many replays. WE NEED A NEW SEASON…THIS IS SUCH A RICH SERIES… on to DENNA… thanks for your hardwork Kev for finding those perfect pixs!! You are to be commended for your integrity and diligence Bravo

Hi guys! First things first, I am ecstatic that you guys have decided to return with the podcasts and I get to enjoy Seeker stuff all over again! This podcast episode was awesome of course, this book being one of my favs in the whole series, looking forward to future book casts. As for Denna’s episode, thats going to be awesome (another excuse to watch that for the 100th time lol) I honestly can not count how many times I’ve read the book series but it has been obsessive still to this day and so happy that that can continue with The Omen Machine!!! Great Job with these casts and looking forward to listening to a bunch of them in the future, who knows, maybe when its all said and done after you guys go through everything, by that time we would have got Seeker back on the air or another adaption from these awesome books!
